Pitney Bowes Australia's history can be traced to 1891 when Remington typewriters were distributed by our corporate predecessor Chartres Ltd. They in turn became Remington Ltd, Remington Pitney Bowes and finally, Pitney Bowes Australia Pty Ltd.

The first Pitney Bowes meters entered the Australian market in 1930 when the company was represented at the time by the legendary Remington Company.

This association lasted for many years before Pitney Bowes established its presence in Australia under its own name in 1987.
